SONDRIO, Italy –– Appalachian State University men’s basketball played its third game of its tour of both Slovenia and Italy on Thursday night.
The Mountaineers, who are 2-1 on the trip thus far, defeated the Sondrio All-Stars 97-62 in a packed gym full of basketball fans wanting to catch a glimpse of the game.
App State got off to a quick start in the opening quarter, scoring on its first seven possessions of the game and building an early lead. After a 28-16 first quarter, the Sondrio All-Stars put together a 6-0 run to begin the second period, but Appalachian responded well - finishing the quarter and heading into halftime with a 54-31 advantage.
