BOONE, N.C. – Sophomore Anna Smarrelli netted the first two goals of her career in Appalachian State field hockey's 3-0 victory over Davidson on Sunday at Brandon and Erica M. Adcock Field.
The Mountaineers (4-0) have compiled their first four-game winning streak since 2017. Appalachian defeated Saint Louis, Ball State and Central Michigan twice during 2017's four-game stretch.
"These first four games have been a rollercoaster," head coach Meghan Dawson said. "Each game we've been competing in has had its ups and downs and what has really shone through is our grit as a team.
