The Mountaineers hosted a Power Five opponent for the first time since 2006-07 on Friday when they played Georgia Tech. However, GT used a 26-9 edge in the first quarter and never looked back during the contest. App's defense improved in the second quarter and did a stellar job holding the visitors to just five points on 2-for-12 shooting from the floor and 1-for-7 from beyond the arc.
