KENT, OHIO -- Appalachian State University field hockey (5-12, 1-5 MAC) dropped a 3-1 setback in its final regular season conference matchup at Kent State.
Junior Ali Williams recorded her seventh goal of the season in the second half off a breakaway opportunity. Another junior, Melissa Nobile, garnered her second assist of 2018 on Williams' goal in the 62nd minute. Williams has combined to notch three goals and an assist among her past four contests.
The Mountaineers fired nine total shots, registering seven of those strikes on target. Three student-athletes recorded two shots on goal apiece -- Williams, sophomore Veerle Van Heertum and junior Michelle Taylor.
