KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Appalachian State University men’s and women’s soccer joined 893 soccer teams (314 men, 579 women) nationwide in earning the National Soccer Coaches Association of America 2015-16 College Team Academic Award for team grade-point average, the association announced on Thursday.
To qualify for the NSCAA award, teams must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined for the award by adding every student-athlete’s GPA and then dividing by the total number of student-athletes.
Men’s soccer finished the year with a 3.07 GPA while women’s soccer finished with a 3.
