STATESBORO, Ga. - Appalachian State University men’s tennis (13-6) couldn’t have ended the regular season in better fashion than a thrilling 4-3 win over archrival Georgia Southern (15-6) Saturday evening at the Wallis Tennis Center.
The Mountaineers fell in doubles play that gave the Eagles the 1-0 lead, but won four singles matches to take home the victory.
“I couldn’t more proud of the guys today”, said head coach Bob Lake. “We battled with resiliency and dug deep when we needed to. This was a statement win for us after dropping two matches last week, and this gives us momentum going into the conference tournament next week.
