Men's Tennis Earns First Annual Mountaineer Cup

BOONE, N.C. – After a 2015-16 campaign exemplifying on-court success, succeeding in the classroom and going above and beyond in the community, Appalachian State University men’s tennis received the first annual Mountaineer Cup.

“These guys worked hard last season in not just on the court, but off it,” head coach Bob Lake said. “We preached that we wanted to take pride in the four values that the Mountaineer Cup represents and I couldn’t be more proud of the team.

The Mountaineer Cup is a competition amongst Appalachian’s 20 sports that is awarded yearly to the sport which embodies the athletic department’s core values of academic integrity, social responsibility, competitive excellence, and world-class experience.
