Men’s Hoops Falls at Home to Charlotte, 82-66

BOONE, N.C. – Despite 24 points from Frank Eaves, Appalachian State University men’s basketball was outrebounded 43-25 and fell to a hot-shooting Charlotte team by a score of 82-66. Eaves shot 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from the floor, 4-of-7 from three-point land and a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.

The Mountaineers (2-8) fell behind 8-2 early on in the first half, but closed the gap quickly with a 8-2 run spanning just 1:32 off the game clock. Back-to-back threes from Matt O’Boyle (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain/Pima Community College) and Eaves keyed the run for the Black and Gold and was finished off with a Tyrell Johnson jumper.
