CERKNICA, Slovenia –– Appalachian State University men’s basketball finished up its trip to the country of Slovenia with a 117-68 win over the KK Cerknica basketball club on Sunday evening.
The Mountaineers kept a modest lead against Cerknica in the early going, but would drastically pull ahead late in the first half, finishing the period with 10-straight made buckets to lead 67-39 at the break.
The Apps shot a blistering 61.0 (23-for-38) percent from the field and 86.0 percent from the charity stripe (18-for-21) in the first half. Leading the charge was sophomore guard Emarius Logan who chipped in 16 first half points, while junior forward Griffin Kinney and second-year forward Tyrell Johnson each scored nine.
