NEW ORLEANS - Senior linebacker John Law was named the Sun Belt’s Preseason Defensive Player of the Year on Friday, which highlighted the six Appalachian State University football student-athletes that received preseason all-Sun Belt recognition, the league office announced.
Representing the Mountaineers on the first team were App State quarterback Taylor Lamb and offensive lineman Parker Collins on offense while Eric Boggs and Law were selected to the preseason all-first team. Marcus Cox and Colby Gossett made the all-second team list.
