BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's basketball used a dominating fourth quarter to push past Tusculum, 78-58, on Tuesday afternoon at the Holmes Center in the lone exhibition of the preseason.
The Mountaineers outscored the Pioneers, 24-6, in the final frame while shooting 57.1 percent in the period, which was the best of any quarter. App State ended the contest on a 17-0 run over the final 5:42 of the game, and held Tusculum scoreless over the final 6:35 of the game on 0-for-11 shooting.
