BOONE, N.C. –– Isaac Johnson just finished his first season as a forward on the Appalachian State University men’s basketball team. As a true freshman, Johnson led the Mountaineers in rebounds and steals - becoming just one of two freshmen in the entire country to achieve that feat.
The Charlotte, N.C. native and Providence Day School graduate has already stamped his legacy on the basketball program after becoming the first freshman in 41 seasons to lead App State in rebounding. Johnson became the first to do so since Mel Hubbard accomplished that during the 1975-76 campaign.
