ARLINGTON, Texas - Appalachian State University men’s basketball struggled to shoot the ball on Saturday night - finishing just 30.2 percent on 19-for-63 shooting from the floor, while UT Arlington scorched the nets to the tune of 55.2 percent (37-for-67) to move past App State 91-60.
The Mountaineers (6-19, 4-10 Sun Belt) also struggled from long range and only connected on six of their 33 attempts on the night. Appalachian managed to get the foul line quite often against the Mavericks (17-7, 8-5 Sun Belt) but shot just 16-for-30 from the charity stripe.
Shining for the Black and Gold was sophomore forward Griffin Kinney (Delaware, Ohio/Fork Union Military Academy) who finished with a career-high 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the floor.
