Hot-Shooting Eagles Move Past Mountaineers, 88-63

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern made eight of their first 10 three-pointers and jumped out to a 30-8 lead that they would never relinquish in an 88-63 win over Appalachian State University men’s basketball on Thursday night inside Hanner Fieldhouse.

The Mountaineers (7-21, 5-12 Sun Belt) began the game with just two field goals in the opening 10:41 of the first half, one of which was a layup from Griffin Kinney that gave Appalachian its only lead of the night at 2-0 to start the game. Kinney finished the ballgame with nine points and seven rebounds.
