BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University wrestling continued to make history on Tuesday, ranking a program-best No. 21 in the nation in the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll and No. 20 in the InterMat duals rankings.
The Mountaineers (5-1, 1-0 Southern Conference) enter their ninth week in program history ranked in the USA Today/NWCA poll Top 25 – all coming in the last two seasons. Appalachian is the lone member of the Southern Conference in the Top 25 for the second-straight week (Chattanooga is third in the “others receiving votes” category) and is one of five schools in the rankings to have at least five wins and no more than one loss.
