NEW ORLEANS — After limiting No. 19 UL Lafayette to one run over seven-plus innings in a 6-1 win, Appalachian State University baseball’s Breydan Gorham has been named the Sun Belt Conference Community Coffee Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Gorham’s honor comes on the heels of last Saturday’s gem against the 19th-ranked Ragin’ Cajuns. The true freshman silenced a crowd of 4,457 by holding UL Lafayette scoreless through seven full innings. He was lifted from the game after a walk and a single to start the eighth and was charged with his lone run after UL Lafayette finally got on the scoreboard with an RBI groundout later in the inning.
