BOONE, N.C. — Director of athletics Doug Gillin is representing Appalachian State University as a panelist at the 2015 IMG Intercollegiate Athletics Forum on Wednesday and Thursday in New York.
Gillin is part of an esteemed panel of athletics directors speaking on the complexities of cost of attendance. Joining Gillin on the panel are UCLA’s Dan Guerrero, USF’s Mark Harlan, Auburn’s Jay Jacobs, UConn’s Warde Manuel, Illinois’ Mike Thomas and NC State’s Debbie Yow.
Beginning in 2015-16, NCAA Division I institutions are now permitted to offer student-athletes funds to help pay the full cost of attending college as defined by federal guidelines, such as travel and other expenses.
