Four-Run Seventh Dooms Baseball in Season Finale

CONWAY, S.C. – Appalachian State University baseball went toe-to-toe with No. 24 Coastal Carolina, blasting two home runs and tossing five scoreless innings. Four runs in the seventh inning, however, would end up being the difference in a tough 6-2 loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers (19-36, 8-22 Sun Belt) combined for six hits on the day, allowing just three more to the Chanticleers (37-18-1, 22-7-1 Sun Belt) in the season finale.

From the hill, Luke Watts got the start and had a fine outing, going 4.2 innings with just four hits and two runs allowed while striking out two.
