Field Hockey Suffers Setback at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. Appalachian State University field hockey suffered its first loss of the season to Georgetown 8-0 in Washington, D.C. on Sunday afternoon.

The Hoyas (2-0) started off the match applying much pressure at the net and scored three goals in the first eleven minutes. Following a Appalachian penalty corner in the 20th minute, the Apps (1-1) kept much of the action on their side of the field. In a span of five minutes, Taylor Cimbalist and Meghan Smart combined to have three shots deflected by Georgetown goalkeeper Chloe Verwiel.
