BOONE, N.C. – After a misty morning session, the Appalachian State University field hockey team started their third preseason practice for the 2016 slate on Thursday afternoon under partly cloudy skies.
“Practice so far this preseason has been about fitness and basics,” said head coach Meghan Dawson. “ We are developing our core and that starts with those two items being our biggest areas to focus on. With our large new group, we are continuing to work on our culture and developing strong student-athletes.”
After an early morning session, practice jumped into stick skills to work on ball handling, speed and control.
