Field Hockey Earns Shutout Win Over Davidson

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University field hockey (2-3) earned its second victory of the season via a 2-0 shutout over the Davidson Wildcats (0-3) on Friday night at Brandon & Erica M. Adcock Field. This is App State's first shutout victory since Oct. 11, 2015, when the Mountaineers defeated Davidson by the same score.

The Mountaineers took a quick 1-0 lead just three minutes into the match when Taylor Cimbalist scored off a high pass from Savanna Sheridan. That goal was Cimbalist's second of the season.

For the remainder of the first half, App State would continue to press the Wildcat defense and put up ten shots with most of them flying wide.
