BOONE, N.C. — App State has hired Eric McDaniel as an assistant coach to oversee the Mountaineers' defensive line, head coach Shawn Clark announced Monday.
McDaniel, who was a quality control coach at App State from 2016-17, returns to Boone after stints at Louisville, Army, and, most recently, Troy. As defensive line coach for the Trojans, he contributed to a record-setting defense that helped them win the last two Sun Belt championships.
"We're excited to welcome Eric and his wife, Rachel, back to Boone," Clark said. "I've known and respected Eric for a long time.
