DALLAS - Appalachian State University women’s basketball head coach Angel Elderkin was honored at the NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four with the prestigious U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Pat Summitt Most Courageous Award at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
“To have this award in coach Summitt’s name, and to have a relationship with Pat (Summitt) is humbling and really hard to express,” said Coach Elderkin. “When I worked for Pat (Summitt), the greatest lesson that she taught me is that you win in life with the people that you surround yourself with.
