SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Appalachian State University wrestler Denzel Dejournette took home his third Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week award of the season, the league office announced on Wednesday.
"Denzel is deserving of all the recognition he has received this year," said head coach JohnMark Bentley. "He is getting better everyday, and he is hungry to be a national champion! What a great leader for our program!"
Dejournette continued his impressive season at the Southern Scuffle on Jan. 1-2. The Winston-Salem, N.C. went 4-1 at the tournament and finished as the runner-up in the heavyweight division.
