CARY, N.C. – App State Tennis senior Savannah Dada-Mascoll defeated the nation's No. 1 player, DJ Bennett of Auburn, in the first round of the ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday. She then followed her thrilling first-round victory with a straight-set win over No. 51 Josie Usereau of Arizona on Thursday to advance to the Round of 16.
Dada-Mascoll opened her match against Bennett with a dominant 6-2 win in the first set. After dropping the second set and falling behind 0-2 in the deciding set, she won six consecutive games to claim a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Bennett, who was an ITA All-American in singles in 2025.
