Appalachian State University has elected not to renew the contract of women’s tennis head coach, Colin Crothers, after 19 years coaching the Mountaineers, according to a press release by director of athletics Doug Gillin on Thursday.
“I sincerely thank coach Crothers for his 19 years of service and commitment to our women’s tennis program and wish him and his family nothing but the best,” Gillin said in the release.
Arriving at App State prior to the 1998-99 season, Crothers produced a 165-215 (.434) record in 19 seasons, coached eight all-conference performers (seven SoCon, one SBC), 24 academic all-conference honorees and two SoCon Freshmen of the Year.
