INDIANAPOLIS - Appalachian State University volleyball student-athlete, Emily Corrigan, has been nominated for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year award, as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday.
The Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
Corrigan, an outside hitter from Johns Creek, Ga., finished her four-year career at Appalachian as one of the school’s top offensive players in program history. Corrigan ranks second with 1,399 career kills, while also becoming the all-time leader in attempts with 3,984 and finishing with 1,005 digs.
