BOONE, N.C. —Appalachian State made a late charge behind two eagles from Alex Burris (Greensboro, N.C.) and a strong stretch from Patrick Moriarty (Rockville, Md.), but Radford was able to hold off the Mountaineers to win the 11-team Wofford Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
The event was shortened to 36 holes after torrential rains halted Monday’s action after around 15 holes. App State finished at 9-under as a team after closing out the opening round strong this morning with a 282, tied for the seventh lowest round in program history.
