NEW ORLEANS - App State sophomore Breanna Budzinski collected her first career Sun Belt Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor, the league on Wednesday.
The Mills River, N.C. native, who was the SBC's Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Year last season, set pace for the Mountaineers at the Covered Bridge Open on Aug. 29. With a 5K personal best of 17:52.6, Budzinski finished 13th overall and helped App State to a third-place finish with 82 points in the women's team standings.
Budzinski and the Mountaineers will compete at the Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
