On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, the League of American Bicyclists recognized the Town of Boone with a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community (BFCSM) award, joining 372 visionary communities from across the country.
“I am very pleased to learn that Boone has been designated a Bicycle Friendly Community. This award recognizes the sustained commitment of our Town staff and entire community to safe, healthy, and economical modes of travel,” Mayor Rennie Brantz said.
With the announcement of 34 new and renewing BFCs, Boone joins a leading group of communities, in all 50 states, that are transforming our neighborhoods.
