BOONE, N.C. — The App State field hockey team took down No. 18 James Madison in the Mountaineers' first ranked win since 2023.
The Mountaineers (8-1, 3-0 MAC) put on the pressure, tallying 16 shots on goal to James Madison's eight on the day.
Sophia Baxter, Lise Boekaar, Frederique Grimbergen, Hadley Kuzmicky and Kassie Paul all found the back of the cage in the matchup. Boekaar's goal came in overtime, fitting it in the right side of the goal to clinch the win for the Mountaineers.
