Baseball Treks to Texas for Sun Belt Series

Appalachian State University baseball makes the third-longest road trip in its 114-year baseball history this weekend when it travels to Texas State for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series. Game times are set for 7 p.m. ET Friday, 4 p.m. ET Saturday and 2 p.m. ET Sunday at Bobcat Ballpark in San Marcos, Texas.

At 1,227 miles, this weekend’s journey to San Marcos is the longest that Appalachian State has ever made for conference games, topping the 1,022-mile trip that it made for last season’s Sun Belt series at UT Arlington.

Since the inception of its baseball program in 1903, the only times that Appalachian has ever traveled farther were a 2,401-mile trip to Spokane, Wash.
