Baseball Hits Four Homers, Downs N.C. A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Appalachian State University baseball hit four home runs on Tuesday night en route to a 7-6 victory over N.C. A&T at historic War Memorial Stadium.

The Mountaineers (4-13, 0-3 Sun Belt) hit three home runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh. First, Matt Vernon hit a three-run blast over the left-field wall. Colin Schmid made it back-to-back homers when he launched a ball to center field. It was the first time that the Mountaineers have hit back-to-back home runs since former Mountaineer Michael Pierson and Conner Leonard accomplished the feat on April 1, 2015 in a 12-10 win over N.
