TROY, Al. — Appalachian State University baseball took a one-run lead into the bottom of the ninth inning during game two of the weekend series with Troy. The Mountaineers (8-23, 3-11 Sun Belt) were unable to keep the Trojans (19-13, 5-6 Sun Belt) off the board in the bottom half of the frame, falling on a walk-off single through the left side of the infield.
Brian Baukhad not hit a home run in his any of his 245 career plate appearances. That all changed in the top of the third inning when his first career homer sailed over the 30 foot wall in right field.
