SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Appalachian State University baseball managed just four hits and issued nine walks in a 16-0 loss to Texas State in game two of its three-game Sun Belt weekend series on Saturday at Bobcat Ballpark.
The Bobcats (14-5, 5-0 Sun Belt) opened up a 6-0 lead in the third inning and never looked back. With two men on base, Theodore Hoffman hit a home run over the left field wall off of the Mountaineers' (4-15, 0-5 Sun Belt) starter Seth Hardin.
Texas State would tack on three more runs in the third inning followed by three runs in the fourth inning with the help of a Mountaineer fielding error to take a 9-0.
