Baseball Edged by Eagles 6-4 in Rubber Match

STATESBORO, Ga. – Sophomore After a neck-and-neck first half of the game, Appalachian State University baseball fell 6-4 in the series finale to Georgia Southern at Clements Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers (13-23, 4-11 Sun Belt) got off to a quick start, going up 4-2 in the third inning over the Eagles (23-13, 9-6 Sun Belt) but were unable to hang on as GS scored four runs over the next two innings to secure the win.

Leading the way offensively for Appalachian was Matt Vernon and Conner Leonard.
