GREENSBORO, N.C. — Two strong starts weren't enough as Appalachian State's baseball team lost 11-6 at UNCG on Sunday afternoon in the second game of their three-game series. The series finale was scheduled to begin at 2:40 p.m.
Suspended after four innings Saturday with the score tied 3-3, Game 2 resumed at noon Sunday with App State (0-2) taking a 6-3 lead thanks to a three-run top of the fifth. Just like he had in the top of the first inning Saturday, designated hitter Jason Avers produced a two-run single in the first inning of completed play Sunday.
