NEW ORLEANS – After helping guide the App State softball team to a 6-0 week, freshman infielder has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. She is the Mountaineers' second Player of the Week honoree already this season.
Barrett started all six games at shortstop last week and tallied 13 hits in 23 at-bats, which was good for a .565 batting average, while slugging three home runs and driving in 13 runs. Her week was highlighted by her nine-RBI weekend against Georgia State in the Mountaineers' series sweep to open Sun Belt action.
