BOONE, N.C. — For the second week in a row, Appalachian State University wrestling received votes in the USA Today/NWCA poll, this week up one spot to No. 29 in the country. The Mountaineers were fourth highest in the “others receiving votes” category, getting five for the week.
The Black and Gold also had three wrestlers ranked again in their respective weight classes in the InterMat rankings.
In the heavyweight division, senior Denzel Dejournette rose to No. 9 in the country after placing third in the Daktronics Open in South Dakota, taking down wrestlers from Northern State, Minnesota and Nebraska-Lincoln during the event.
