STATESBORO, GA. – Appalachian State (12-6) defeated Georgia Southern (13-9) on Friday in a 7-0 shutout to secure the Sun Belt series win. Sydney Holland picked up her fifth win as a Mountaineer for a complete game shutout.
Today's win marks the second ever Sun Belt series victory for the Mountaineers. Their last series victory was against the ULM Warhawks in the opening weekend of Sun Belt play in 2018.
Senior Megan Walker continued her hitting streak against the Eagles, batting 3-3 with a double and two singles. Walker is now 7-7 against the Eagles this weekend after having only three hits in the previous 16 games.
