BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State Softball (14-7) extended its win streak to five games after taking game one, 4-2, of Wednesday's doubleheader but dropped game two against the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, 9-6.

The top of the lineup produced for the Apps in game one. Keri White, Caylie Kifer and Haley Stewart combined hit three of the Mountaineers' four hits. Kenzie Longanecker picked up her eighth win in the circle, limited the Bulldogs to one walk with six strikeouts and six hits.
