BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University wrestling made program history on Tuesday, coming in at its highest ranking ever in the InterMat Division I duals meet national rankings at No. 21 after taking town then-No. 15 Oregon State 25-15 at home on Nov. 12.
The Mountaineers (2-0) jumped from unranked in the poll and is now the highest ranking member of the Southern Conference in two major polls, also ranking No. 23 in the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll this week.
Appalachian State also features five wrestlers this week who rank in the top 25 in their respective weight classes in many polls.
