Apps Nab Head-to-Head Wins Over Gardner-Webb & PC

BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State picked up head-to-head wins over both Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian over the course of the last week to continue preparations for the 2017 Sun Belt Championships, which begin Sunday in Sandestin, Fla.

App State topped Presbyterian by five strokes with a team-285 on Monday at Lakeside Country Club in Laurens, S.C. The Mountaineers made an 8-over 296 stand up against Gardner-Webb on Tuesday in a head-to-head match at Deer Brook Country Club in Shelby, N.C.

Freshman Noah Schneider took top honors at Lakeside against PC with a 3-under 69, while sophomore Alex Burris carded a 1-under 71.
