BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women’s tennis (7-13) will open up the first round of the 2016 Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Championship against eighth-seeded UL Monroe (12-5-1) Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at the City Tennis Park Center in New Orleans.
Appalachian is coming off a narrow 4-3 defeat to Davidson last Saturday on Senior Day to conclude the regular season. The Apps were down 3-1 before rallying to cut the deficit to 3-2 and having a chance to win the contest in the last two matches.
However, Heidi Swope fell in the tiebreaker after a marathon of a match.
