CONWAY, S.C. — Appalachian State University women’s soccer fell in its final weekend contest with conference foe Coastal Carolina, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon.
“Coastal Carolina was a very tall, athletic and organized team,” head coach Sarah Strickland said. “We had some good movement off the ball and found some great sequences but still lacked that quality final ball. Sarah Moon made a huge impact coming into the match. We will continue to work this week and are excited to play at home this weekend.
The Mountaineers (5-5, 0-2 Sun Belt) kept up with the Chanticleers (5-3-1, 2-0) shot for shot in the first half, but couldn’t maintain the effort in the second, getting outshot 18-9 overall.
