BLUFFTON, S.C. – Senior Emily Stinson’s final round 73 (+1) spared a strong final round for Appalachian State as the Mountaineers captured a head-to-head win over Dayton at Berkeley Hall near Hilton Head Island over the weekend.
Stinson (155, +11) won the event by one stroke over teammate Hannah Craver (+12) Dayton’s Emily Connors (+12). Craver carded a 79 (+7) in Sunday’s final round.
App finished with a team score of 631, nine shots better than the Flyers (640). App led by two entering Sunday, but pulled away with a 312 to close out the event.
