JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Appalachian State University softball played in their first twin bill on Saturday for the 2017 season but fell short in both matches. College of Charleston defeated App State 12-1, and the Mountaineers dropped to Jacksonville 4-0 in the nightcap.
Appalachian slipped to 0-3 overall while College of Charleston (2-0) and Jacksonville (4-0) stayed perfect in tournament play. Ten Mountaineers grabbed hits with Alisha Josey leading the offensive charge going 2-for-6 on the day. A. Josey has opened up the season recording hits in three-straight ballgames, including yesterday’s home run and going 1-for-3 against College of Charleston and Jacksonville on Saturday.
