App State Splits Pair With Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C. – Appalachian State University softball matched their total number of victories from a year ago after splitting their midweek doubleheader on Thursday against the Presbyterian College Blue Hose in Clinton, S.C. at the PC Softball Complex. The Mountaineers outplayed PC in game one downing the Big South squad 4-1, and Presbyterian bounced back and fended off Appalachian’s late rally to slide past the Black and Gold, 4-3.

The Mountaineers (11-9) smacked out 13 hits on Thursday, and three ladies found two or more connections including Natalie Orcutt (2-for-7), Haley Stewart (3-for-6) and Cara Parker (3-for-8).
