BOONE, N.C. — Director of Athletics Doug Gillin announced Monday the hire of Makini Thompson as Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator for Appalachian State University.
Thompson, a former All-American volleyball student-athlete at Florida State with experience in collegiate coaching and athletics administration, comes to Boone after most recently serving as the Seminoles' Assistant AD for Administration.
"We are excited to welcome Makini to the App State family," Gillin said. "She will play a vital role in our aggressive pursuit of comprehensive excellence across all facets of App State Athletics. Her experience as a successful student-athlete, coach and administrator makes her a great addition to our leadership team.
