BOONE, N.C. — The App State field hockey team fell to No. 17 UMass, 3-0, on Sunday. Despite the loss, the Mountaineers have clinched a spot in the 2025 MAC Field Hockey Championship.
Goalkeeper Claire Grenis had a superb outing, tallying 12 saves in the match. The Mountaineers (11-4, 5-2) were unable to find the back of the net, resulting in the loss.
How It Happened
1st: The period was scoreless for both teams. Grenis made two saves to keep the Minutewomen off the board.
2nd: UMass scored twice to take a 2-0 lead.
